Terms of Use
Read this before relying on the guides or the phone line. It explains who is responsible for the work done in your home.
What the service is
The site offers two things. It publishes general guides about water heaters in the Twin Cities, and it lists a phone number that connects callers with plumbing companies in their area. The people who run this site do no plumbing, heating, gas or electrical work, employ no tradespeople and hold no trade license.
Who you hire
You hire the plumbing company. If you are connected with one and accept its price, your agreement is with that company alone. This site is not part of that agreement, takes no payment under it and cannot change it. Prices, scheduling, workmanship, materials, any promises about the work, permits and disputes are all between you and the company.
No endorsement of the work
Being connected with a company is not a recommendation of it. This site makes no promise about any company's skill, credentials, availability, prices or conduct, and it does not stand behind any work they do. Checking a license number and current insurance before hiring is up to you, and it is worth doing every time.
The guides are general
The guides describe how water heaters usually behave and what is usually done about common problems. They cannot diagnose your heater, which takes someone standing in front of it. They are not instructions for working on gas lines, live wiring or a pressurized tank. Work that needs a permit or a license in your city still needs one, whatever a guide says.
Price ranges on the site describe what work commonly costs around the metro. They are not offers, quotes or promises. Only the company at your house can give you a real price.
Accuracy
The guides are written with care, but equipment, codes and utility practices change. The site does not promise that every statement is current or free of mistakes. When the definitive answer belongs to a permit office, utility or manufacturer, ask them.
Limits on liability
You use the site and the phone line at your own discretion. As far as the law allows, the operator is not liable for loss or damage from relying on the guides, from any outage of the phone line, or from anything an independent company reached through it does or fails to do.
Using the content
The text, layout and graphics belong to the operator. You are welcome to read, print and link to any page. Copying the writing onto another website is not allowed.
Changes
These terms may be updated at any time, and the version on this page is the one that applies. Using the site after an update means you accept the new version.
